Simple French Toast

Ahh, booze at breakfast. There's really no better way to start the day. Unfortunately, it's really not socially acceptable, and most mothers frown upon it. That's the beauty behind Mother's Day. It's holidays like these that permit us to indulge in wine before noon, making time with the family bearable and free of judgement from others. But what wine do we drink? While it's a tad predictable, there's no better way to kick off brunch with Mom than with bubbles. It's celebratory, delicious, pairs well with French Toast, and brings a level of refinement to catching a buzz first thing in the morning that Whiskey just doesn't. Instead of the classic Champagne, try a Cava from Spain. Made in the same traditional method as Champagne, high quality Cava can be had for a fraction of the price. If you can find one, get your hands on a Brut Rosé Cava, which can often bring strawberry and raspberry flavors that will compliment the strawberry-topped toast. These dry, high-acidity wines will also leave your palate cleansed and refreshed - like a substitute for mouthwash in the morning!

Go ahead, pour a third glass and toast all the Mothers of the world out there. Don't worry - they're not judging you.
